Stephen Haslam Obituary

Stephen Jay Haslam, 63 of Clarington, Ohio passed away Friday April 5, 2024 at his home.  He was born November 26, 1960 in New Martinsville, West Virginia a son of Richard Dean Haslam Sr. and Betty Ritchie Brown.

Steve was a kind and generous son, brother, uncle and cousin.  He felt a deep-seeded need to take care of and ensure the safety of all his family and friends.  He cared for many of his nieces and nephews and treated them more as his children than anything else.  He was always there for advice and to talk to.

He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the drivers Jeff Gordan and Kevin Harvick, and the San Francisco 49’s. Steve was a US Navy veteran having served from 1979 to 1985.  He spent the next 40 years as a mechanic and loved it.  He will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and co-workers.  He left a great hole that will never be filled by anyone else.  We love you big brother.

Preceded in death by his step-mother Shirley Haslam – February 4, 2024, his grandparents Bertha Virginia Leasure and William Ritchie, Clyde Roy Haslam and Goldie Mae Wright Haslam.
