Barbara A. Meek, age 77, of Beallsville, Ohio passed away Sunday October 7, 2018 at Arbors at Woodsfield, Ohio. She was born in Bellaire, Ohio on October 13, 1940 the daughter of the late Albert Heil, Jr. and Eileen E. McCloud Heil.
She was preceded in death by her husband James D. Meek, brothers, Michael and Philip Heil, and sister-in-law Joyce D. (Kipp) Heil.
Barbara was very active in the community before her retirement. She and her husband were Cub Scout Den Leaders and operated the Youth Center in the 70’s. She was a secretary at the Parry Museum and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Her husband and she owned an Insurance Company office and Antique Business. She was a Deputy for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and also worked as a Deputy for several years at Jamboree in the Hills.
She is survived by her children; Kim (Dan) Palmer of Woodsfield, and Jim (Mardell) Meek of Galloway, Ohio, grandchildren; Kaleigh (Holden) Matthews of Columbus, Ohio, Brandi (Cory) Napolitano of Woodsfield, and Allison (Joey) Craft of London, Ohio, two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann (Meek) Sims of Woodsfield, and Sue (Jones) Heil of Mansfield, Ohio, two very special great grandchildren; Phoenix Palmer of Woodsfield and Shaila Ullman of London, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Tuesday October 9, 2018 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Franklin Haines officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio.
