Dwight Orin Thompson

Dwight O. Thompson, 79, passed away on Sunday March 31, 2019.  He was raised in Laings, Ohio. Dwight lived in Hammonton, N.J. for 50 years. He was a teacher and coach at Shawnee High School in the Lenape School District for 31 years and also taught Driver’s Ed. After his retirement in 1998, he drove charter tours for Motor Coach Industries. He was a member of Pitman Road Church of Christ and the longest serving elder, serving 25 years.

Dwight is survived by his wife of 57 years Mary Lea (Northcut)Thompson, children Todd Dwight (Jeannie) Thompson, and Jana Lea (Ronnie) Ritchie, 8 grandchildren and sister Ramona (Ken) Noland. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Marie Thompson and sister LaVonne Ransom.

Friends may greet the family from 5 pm – 8 pm on Friday April 5, 2019 and 9 am – 11 am on Saturday April 6, 2019 at the Pitman Road Church of Christ, 500 Pitman Rd., Sewell, NJ 08080. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 9, 2019 at The West Union Church of Christ Cemetery with Donald Thompson officiating.
