Jack Brent Salisbury of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away on October 2, 2006 at Wheeling Medical Park. He was born on July 12, 1925 in Rinard Mills, Ohio son of the late Jacob and Eulala English Salisbury.
He graduated from Graysville High School in 1943, entered the U.S. army and served in both the European and Pacific Theaters as combat infantry in Patton's 3rd. Army. He graduated from Marietta College in 1950 and also attended Ohio University in Athens. Jack taught for 36 years in the Switzerland of Ohio School District.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Victor Salisbury.
Surviving is his wife Mary Reed Salisbury of Woodsfield, sister Elsie Salisbury Buchman and niece Madelyn (Don) Heslop of Marietta, Ohio. Also surviving are several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jack was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Woodsfield, Ohio, a life time member of the National Rifle Association, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #89, member and Past President of the former Lions Club, and member of the former K. of P. Lodge.
Friends received from (4 - 8) p.m. Wednesday and from 12 noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday Oct. 5, 2006 at the Bauer-Turner funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Richard Wilson and Rev. Frank Lehosky Officiating.
Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield. Military Services will be conducted by the Belmont Veterans Council. Masonic Lodge service to be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
