Mary Lou (Gramlich) Tisher, age 86, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Tuesday October 2, 2018 at the Monroe County Care Center. She was born in Jerusalem, Ohio December 1, 1931 a daughter of the late Dean Gramlich Sr. and Gladys Fraley Gramlich Fair.
Preceded in death by her husband Virgil L. Tisher who she married 68 years ago this October 7, 1950 on his 21st. birthday. Also preceding her in death are one brother Ben Gramlich, her step-father Richard Fair, a sister-in-law Nelda Gramlich, and her sister Glenna Barbara and brother-in-law Bill Powell.
She is survived by her children and their families which include Yvonne Tisher of Cincinnati, Ohio, and her children Allison (Alex) Parlin, Dustin Amrine and Adrian Amrine; Barbara and Casey Duffy of Danville, Kentucky and their children Sarah Duffy and Christopher Duffy; Brent Tisher of Lewisville, Ohio and his children Ramsey (Amy) Tisher and Cameron Tisher; and Pamela (Don) Longwell of Woodsfield, Ohio and their children Matthew Longwell and Brian Longwell, one brother Dean (Judy) Gramlich of Ozark, Ohio, six great grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews.
She attended Bustin Beauty School in Columbus, Ohio. She had her first shop, a shampoo bowl and a hair dryer, in Lowell, Ohio until they owned the farm in Woodsfield and remodeled a screened-in porch into Mary Lou’s Beauty Salon, with two shampoo bowls, two dryers and a sign in the yard.
She loved doing jigsaw puzzles and reading books. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking, and baking. Still mowing on the riding lawn mower as of late.
She was an avid Euchre player three times a week until recently. She helped with the family Christmas Tree farm and with Monroe County Antiques.
She was also a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday October 6 and from 11 a.m. Sunday October 7 until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. Frank Haines officiating. Private Interment for family will be in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield.
Easter Star Service will be held at 7:30 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
