Vera Hines

Vera Lucille McGarry Hines, 97, passed on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday morning July 17, 2019 at Brandy Woods Assisted Living, Woodsfield, Ohio.  She was born December 28, 1921 in Wayne Twp., Monroe County, Ohio; the daughter of Edward B. and Orabel Hickinbotham McGarry.

Vera married Ellis G. Hines on February 27, 1943.  And to this union were born four daughters, Betty A. King, of Lewisville, Ohio, Sharon K. Scott (John Hines) of Lewisville, Ohio, Robin L. (Joseph) Bishop of Woodsfield, Ohio, and Sue Ellen Hines.  Besides her three daughters she leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 3 step great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are Ellis G. Hines (husband), Sue Ellen Hines (daughter), Clyde L. King and Jerry A. Scott (son-in-laws), Lanie King (granddaughter), Alice McGarry Lumbatis (sister) John Henry McGarry (brother), and Gale Springer (brother).

Vera was baptized at an early age into the Church of Christ.  Her love for the Lord and the Church was exemplified by her life as a faithful and virtuous Christian woman, loving wife, mother and grandmother, friend and neighbor.

There will be no visitation.  Private interment will be at the family’s discretion.
