Vernon W. Ischy, age 92, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Tuesday December 17, 2019 at the Monroe County Care Center. He was born in Monroe County Ohio November 7, 1927 a son of late Harry and Freda Rothacher Ischy.
Vernon retired from Riesbeck’s Food Market, was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Swiss Hills Arts and Crafts Association and co-owned Owl Hollow Crafts.
He was preceded in death by many family members.
He is survived by his wife Betty Evans Ischy of Lewisville who he married Feb. 8, 1975, step children Talmage (Tom) and Jessica Evans of Lewisville, and Christine and Allen Murphy of Marietta, Ohio 3 step grandchildren, Dale Hughes, Laura Hughes and MacMillan Mushi, 8 step great grandchildren, 4 sister-in-law’s Dorothy Morris, Iva Wise, and Eileen Wise, and Juanita (Sheldon) Blair, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog Tiny.
Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday December 20, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 21, 2019 with Rev. Susan Lehosky officiating. Military services will be held Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery Lewisville, Ohio.
