Carl Frederick Dixon, age 84, of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Barnesville Hospital. He was born June 29, 1933 in Monroe County Ohio, a son of the late Paul K. Dixon and Rozella E. Bischoff Dixon.

He retired from North American Coal Company. He also drove truck for Arthur Block and Baker & Sons Equipment and was a dairy farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and also his wife Barbara L. Flynn Dixon, and sister Betty J. Dixon.

He is survived by one son, Alvin R. Dixon of Woodsfield, Ohio, and daughter, Thelma A. Zimmerman of Woodsfield.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday May 15th.,  at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio where services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Cheryl Norris officiating. Burial to follow in the Neuhart Cemetery.

Carl and Betty were among my dearest friends as were their mom and dad. I kept in touch with Barbara after Betty's passing for several years. My sincere sympathy to the family during these difficult days.

Alvin, Thelma and family - was so surprised to hear about Carl may he RIP - I always enjoyed talking with him - what a good friend - you all will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Alvin, Thelma, and family, my deepest sympathy on the passing of Carl. I never saw Carl that he did not have a smile on his face, and a pleasant greeting for you. I will always re-member how kind and friendly he was. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Alvin And Thelma So sorry to hear about Carls Passing Carl was a good person and we had a lot of fun together. I remember his first day at #6 mine and his way of expressing his reservations,but as always he fluffed them off and went to work.Be strong and may God Bless All Your family. John Winland
