Donald Lee (Shylac) McKelvey, age 76, of Clarington, Ohio passed away Sunday September 30, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital.  He was born December 3, 1941 in Round Bottom, Ohio  a son of the late Charles L. McKelvey Sr. and Helen G. Winkler McKelvey.

He retired from Consol Energy-McElroy Mine, was a US Army veteran, a member of Eagles Lodge #2302.  He enjoyed golf, bowling, and was an avid fast pitch softball player having won the Best Sportsmanship Trophy in the state of Ohio.  He was a great fan of the Pirates, Steelers, and Ohio State.

Preceded in death by one sister; Norma Miller, and one brother; Jeffrey McKelvey.

He is survived by his wife; Linda Ackerman McKelvey of Clarington, two sons: David McKelvey, of Clarington, and Daniel (Kelly) McKelvey of Woodsfield, one daughter; Donda (Randy) Snell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, five brothers; Lloyd McKelvey, Kenneth (Karen) McKelvey, James (Debbie) McKelvey, Charles L. McKelvey Jr., and Douglas McKelvey, five sisters; Iva Jeffers, Janet Kress, Carolyn Sue (Jack) Keen, Ruth (Paul) Jones, and Sandi Ruckman, four grandchildren; Dalton McKelvey, Miranda (Kevin) Cook, Joshua Snell, and Landen Haslem.  

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 3, 2018 with Rev. Susan Lehosky officiating. Burial will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery Beallsville, Ohio.

Linda sorry for the loss of Don. We spent manny days together both at work and at play, he was a true friend you could always count on to be there!! May he rest in peace.🙏🙏🙏

Sorry to see Don passed away. Shot a lot billards and 9 ball with him and his brother's at Club 7 Powhatan Pt back in the 70's. Great an memories.

Linda and Family, I did not know of Don's passing until after calling hours last night, as I was off yesterday. Oh how I remember Don, and his pitching-he was awesome to watch him play, as he put his all into the game. May God bring peace, comfort, and Blessings during these most difficult times.
