My condolences to the family of this wonderful man. Judge Starr helped to change my life by being an instrument of reason and good. He upheld the law with morals and justice. I can not say enough good about him. I am so sad to learn of his passing. Over the last several months I have been trying to locate him, so that I might be able to say "Thank You" for the life changing decisions he made on my behalf. Rest In Peace, Judge Starr..

Lois and family- I am so sorry to learn of Walter’s passing. Walter was my best friend in High School and College. Since I am also a lawyer, I will assert the attorney/client privilege on his behalf with respect to the high jinx and escapades of youth ( of which there were many ) !!!

We have lost a good and decent man, but will always retain the memories of his quick wit, zest for life and his love of both friends and family. Godspeed my old friend. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Lois and Family:  I want to let you all know how sorry I am to hear of your loss.  Walter was a very important, loving part of your life! I know he did a lot to help the people of Monroe County, but he also did a lot to help your family! He was so easy to talk to and taught so much just through conversation! His life was full and he will always be remembered by family, friends, and the residents of Monroe County! I wish that I could be there with you all to celebrate his life and  comfort you in your time of loss....please know I am there in spirit.

It was always my privilege and pleasure to know, work with and learn from Walter Starr in the limited time we collaborated.  His wisdom, advice and support were always welcome and certainly enlarged my life.  I am a better person for having known him and find that I have patterned much of my life after his.

My sincerest condolences to Walter's family and friends who count as many.

Looking back at my childhood and early adulthood, some of the best moments I remember included Walter. As adults - distance, family and work obligations prevented us from constant contact but our friendship was as true as ever each time we spoke. He never failed to make me laugh or feel his deep friendship. The world has become a little less graceful and less wise with his passing and I will miss him deeply.

To Walter  - Thanks for all the laughter and joy, the good times and the times we leaned on each other. God bless you buddy.

It was an honor and privilege caring for Walter over these years.  I have never grown so close to a patient and his wife.  May there be comfort in knowing that someone so special as Walter will never be forgotten and live on in all our hearts.
