Andrea E. Workman

Andrea E. Workman, 70 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday January 21, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown, West Virginia.  She was born in Barnesville Ohio August 11, 1951 a daughter of Doris Vickers Weddle of Woodsfield and the late William H. Weddle.

She is survived by her mother, son Gregory L Workman II (Amanda), granddaughter Alexandra Workman, grandson Samuel Workman, brothers Jeffrey Weddle (Anne) and Jerry Weddle (Debi).

Andrea was a member of Woodsfield High School Class of 1969.  She was also a member of the Woodsfield United Methodist Church.   

Her career spanned various industries during her lifetime.  She retired from Computer Sciences Corporation, a call center in Wheeling that performed background checks for the Federal Government.  Worked in the insurance industry, was a medical receptionist, and at the family auto parts store for many years.

Andrea’s lifelong passion was music, both vocal and playing the piano.  She thoroughly enjoyed singing in church choir, performing on worship teams, and with the Monroe Singers.  She was a member of the traveling Christian music group “Ekklessia” ministering all over the Ohio Valley.  In 1988 recorded an album eponymously titled “Andrea”.  It included a song that she wrote the words and music for called “Childlike Faith”, with which she traveled the region ministering in song at various churches.

She enjoyed playing league softball as a pitcher for years as well.

Her other love was her family.  She was affectionately known as “Hannie” by her grandchildren and niece.  She was always proud of her son and grandchildren and delighted in following their lives.  Christmas was especially important for her: giving gifts, playing jokes, and spending hours with loved ones.

Friends will be received from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday January 26, 2022 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield.
