Barbara Bosley Carslund

Barbara J. Bosley Carslund, of Woodsfield, Ohio, was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away at the age of 62, on September 5, 2021. She was born on June 25, 1959 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Walter and Jean Hartline Bolsey.

She served honorably in the Air Force for 18 years before retiring, achieving rank of Master Sargent. She was the Office Manager for the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, and a beloved member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ.

Barb was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She adored her three sons and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma Barbara. But it was also the simplest pleasures in life that brought great joy to Barb. Whether it was cooking her famous pot roast, whipping up a Christmas feast, or realizing she had a knack for making delicious wedding cakes, her hands were rarely still.  She was a small town girl at heart, but her love for traveling took her all around the world. From destinations such as Denmark, Greenland, to France, the stories she told about her adventures will forever be cherished. Barb will always be remembered by her family and friends for her elegant style, the way she was always perfectly put together, and of course, her award winning performances she gave growing up as a Spider Sister.

In addition to her parents, Walter and Jean Bosley, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Bosley.

She is survived by her sons; Sean (Stacy) Fitzgerald of Panama City, Florida, Jonathan Fitzgerald (fiancé Emma) of Melbourne, Australia, and Bryan Fitzgerald of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, siblings; Pam Eichhorn (George) of Frankfort, Kentucky, Trish Bosley-Guinther (Byron) of Glouster, Ohio, Brent Bosley of Woodsfield, Ohio, and Jennifer Childress (Tim) of Lewisville, Ohio, three grandchildren Cali, Connor, and Ellie, and her beloved dog, Winston.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday September 10, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday September 11, 2021 with Sam Bartrug officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield.
