Barbara Cecil

Barbara F. Cecil 79, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Friday January 26, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family.  She was born June 20, 1944 at Eglin Field, Florida a daughter of the late Alvis and Ella Heath Gillman.

Barbara met and later married the love of her life Bill “Sonny” Cecil while in Florida.  They moved to North East Ohio where she was head chef at Fisher’s Restaurant.  They later retired to his hometown of Woodsfield. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sonny Cecil September 16, 2018. 

She is survived by her son Kenneth and daughter Jennifer, and honorary daughter and son Theresa and Dean.  She has six beloved grandkids; Jessica, Emily, Danielle, Trey, Donny, and Zack, and four great grandkids.

Friends will be received from 12 noon until time of an informal memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday February 3, 2024 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made to any “No Kill” animal shelter.
