Betty Jane Hopton

Betty J. Hopton, 91 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday June 29, 2026 at Continuous Care Center Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born in Rittman, Ohio January 27, 1935 a daughter of the late Walter and Nellie J. (Troxell) Noble.

She was a 1953 graduate of Rittman High School and was a bookkeeper for auto dealerships in the Wadsworth area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard J. Hopton, November 14, 2022.

She is survived by two sons; James (Susan) Hopton of Illinois, and his children Raquel (Kyle) Horvatin of Chicago, Rhett (Hannah) Hopton of Illinois and Reggie Hopton of Illinois and Ireland Lenz of Illinois, son; Jeff (Stephanie) Hopton of Orrville, Ohio and their children; Megan Hopton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Eric (Chelsea) Hopton of Alabama, Heather (Drew) of Kentucky, Jennifer Hopton of Columbus, Ohio Tiffany (Lannie) Ludwig of Doylestown, Ohio and Ricky (Tarah) Cavendish of Wadsworth, Ohio, and 15 great grandchildren.

Private graveside service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2026 at the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield with Herb Alexander officiating.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.
