Brian Ralph Ady of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, after courageously facing health issues over the past several years.
A man of faith, Brian grew up attending the Woodsfield Church of Christ, where he was baptized. Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Ady; his father, Ralph Ady; his sister, Marcia Ann Ady Haren; and his significant other, Angela Makris.
He is survived by his nephew, R.J. (Leslie) Haren; his niece, Ginger Yonak; his great-niece, Hannah Yonak; and his great-nephew, Sam Palmer.
Brian dedicated much of his life to his work at Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation, where he retired after 35 years of service as a skilled crane operator. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a duster for North American Coal (#7 coal mine) and prior to that at the Richard Haren and Son Lumber Company. He was known for his strong work ethic, camaraderie with others, and his loyal personality.
Brian had a talent for woodworking and could build and create beautiful works of art with his hands. He was also an avid coin collector who spent decades building a treasured collection of rare coins. Brian was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed cheering them on each season. Especially in retirement, he enjoyed golfing with his dear friends, spending time in his garden, doing yard work, and sharing quiet moments with his cats and loved ones. Brian will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, easy going personality, and sense of humor.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to Crossed Paws Animal Shelter in Brian’s memory.
His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and reunited in Heaven with so many loved ones.
