Carolyn B. Wohnhas, 78, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday November 30, 2019 at her home with her family. She was born July 14, 1941 in Jacksonburg, West Virginia a daughter of the late Augustus Bates & Anna Bell Beaver Bates.
She was an employee at the Fairway Riverside Golf Course at Sardis, Ohio, and a life-long Christian, and took a loving interest in the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother and a friend to all. If you were hungry she was going to feed you, if you were cold she was going to clothe you. This big hearted soul will be missed.
Preceded in death by her siblings Rex Bates, Elsa Bates, Glenn Bates, Augustus Bates Jr., Mack Bates, Don Bates, Jewels Eddie, and Nila Booher.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Max E. Wohnhas of Woodsfield, sons Shayne Wohnhas, and Shannon Wohnhas, daughter Gayanna Wohnhas, six grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends received from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday December 2, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 3, 2019 with Dick Fonte officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis, Ohio.
