Dave Ricer

Dave W. Ricer, 70 of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away Thursday March 18, 2021 at Arbors of Woodsfield.  He was born in Barnesville, Ohio June 17, 1950 a son of Dorothy Frum Ricer of Woodsfield and the late Billy Ricer.

Dave served in Vietnam with the US Army from August 1970 to August 1971.  During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.  He was a life member of the Woodsfield VFW, member of the Beallsville American Legion, Woodsfield Eagles, Charter member of the Woodsfield Moose Lodge, and a life member of the Knights of Pythias.  Dave worked as a coal miner and retired from the U.S. Postal Service where everyday on his route he handed out candy to the kids on his route.

Dave’s greatest joy in life was his grandchildren.  His grandchildren cherish all the memories of their hunting seasons together and other fun adventures that they shared with grandpa.  Dave's love for music was shared with his children and grandchildren. They all have wonderful memories of Dave playing his guitar and singing to them.   

In addition to his mother Dorothy Ricer, he is survived by his wife Patricia Hartley Ricer of Jerusalem, children Danny (Mitzi) Graham, Eric (Alana) Graham, and Amy (Craig) Reich, siblings Rick Ricer of Cincinnati, Gary Ricer of Woodsfield, Jim Mahoney of Columbus, and Rob Ricer of Columbus, grandchildren Tyler (Tiff) Graham, Courtney (Randy) Gallicchio, Dustin Graham, Macey (Trentt) Sprouse, Ryan Reich, Jason Reich, Mariah Reich, Donovan Graham (Alex), and Zack Graham, great grandchildren Ajay Marmie, Keegan Graham, Cooper Graham, Kyler Graham, Sienna Gallicchio, Tristan Gallicchio, and TJ Sprouse, and many nieces and nephews.

Keeping with Dave’s wishes there will be no visitation.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.
