Obituary

Doris Pearl Smith, 87, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.   She was born in Hannibal, Monroe County, Ohio  on August 5, 1932 the third daughter of the late Judge Forrest D. and Grace McFarland Pfalzgraf.           .

Doris was a homemaker.   She was known to many as Nan Nan.  After her husband’s retirement, they enjoyed attending their grand and great grandchildren’s sporting events; and loved going to auctions, yard selling and collecting glassware.  Doris was a Christian by faith and confirmed and baptized into the First United Methodist Church, Woodsfield, Ohio

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Kenneth Cline Smith just 123 days ago on 11/19/2019; along with two sisters, Lois Evelyn Orr and Grace Eileen Hutchison

She is survived by three daughters Trudy (Sherman) Pyles, Janet Smith and Sue (Alex) Triggs, all of Woodsfield, three grandchildren Stacey (Roman) Lori, Marlena (Brian) Kress, Joshua Merckle, three great grandchildren Bede, Gwyneth and Aubrey; her one remaining sister Joyce Jean Porter of Atlanta, Georgia.    A very special nephew Mitchell Weber of Soddy Daisy, TN. and nieces Sandy & Jeannie of Canton, Ohio and several more. A brother in law  Ralph Gene Smith of Newark, Ohio, and sister in law Emily Ann (Donald) Hartshorn of Woodsfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Low Gap Cemetery Fund, C/O Janet Graham, 36075 Harmon Ridge Road, Graysville, Ohio 45734.

There will be no visitation.  Inurnment for Doris & Kenneth will be graveside at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio
