Elizabeth (Liz) Schumacher

Elizabeth (Liz) C. Schumacher, 63, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away January 12, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born at Martins Ferry, Ohio hospital on August 17, 1960, to Roger E. Schumacher (deceased) and Barbara F. Schumacher (Yost) of Woodsfield, Ohio.

Liz was a 1978 graduate of Woodsfield High School and obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati. She spent most of her professional career residing in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. Liz moved back to Woodsfield in 2022 after retirement. During her retirement days in Monroe County, she enjoyed hiking, collecting wildflowers, artistic hobbies and riding her beloved horse named Faith.

Liz is survived by her mother, Barbara F. Schumacher of Woodsfield as well as three brothers, Robert E. Schumacher of Woodsfield; Roger J. Schumacher of Woodsfield; and John C. (Patricia) Schumacher of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews; and seven great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Liz on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 10am to 11am at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 South Paul Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.

A funeral mass will be on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 12:00pm at St. Sylvester Catholic church, 334 S. Main Street, Woodsfield, Ohio 43793 followed by inurnment at St. Sylvester cemetery.
