G. Jean Brown

G. Jean Brown, 84, of Sardis, Ohio passed away Thursday July 18, 2019 at Liza’s Place Wheeling, West Virginia.  She was born in Monroe County Ohio July 21, 1934 a daughter of the late Ernest & Caroline Eikleberry Brown.

 She retired from Switzerland of Ohio School District with 32 years of service as a secretary for Sardis Elementary School. Jean was a lifetime member of the Unity Baptist Church and held various positions including church clerk.  She graduated from Antioch High School in 1952 and Southeastern Technical School.  Member of Midway Community Center and Midway Seniors. 

 Preceded in death by two brothers Rev. Gerald Brown, and Paul Brown, and two sisters; Evelyn Winter and Esther Brown.

 She is survived by two nephews; Jim Winter of Rittman, Ohio and Dan (Pam) Winter of Sterling, Ohio, one sister-in-law; Edith Brown of Woodsfield, two grandnephews; Mike and Jeff, and one grandniece; Denise, four great grandnephews, and one great grandniece, and special friend Connie Brown and also her church family.

 Friends received from 6-8 p.m. Friday July 19, and from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Saturday July 20, 2019  at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio with Tim Fleeman and Anthony McSwords officiating. Burial will follow in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery near Antioch, Ohio.
