Gayanna Lea Wohnhas, 50 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Monday October 4, 2021 at her home. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia December 2, 1970 a daughter of Max E. Wohnhas of Woodsfield and the late Carolyn Bates Wohnhas.
She was employed by Riverside Golf Course at Sardis, Ohio. Gayanna graduated from River High School in 1989 where she excelled in sports, scoring a career high of 1360 points in basketball. She went on to play basketball as a point-guard for Northern Kentucky University where she received her degree in Construction Technology.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Shayne and Monie Wohnhas.
She is survived by her father Max E. Wohnhas of Woodsfield, brother Shannon (Stella) Wohnhas of Springfield, Ohio, nieces and nephews, Christina Miller, Katie Wohnhas, Jesse Wohnhas, Lee Bryant, Nick (Maddi) Wohnhas, and Dylan Wohnhas.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday October 8, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio with Richard Fonte officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery near Sardis, Ohio.
