James W Cline, age 92 of Woodsfield, Ohio died at The Arbors nursing home December 16, 2023. He was born Mar. 30, 1931, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Harold and Kathryn Cline, and married Mary V. Newlin, March 19, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio.
A graduate of Woodsfield High School, he attended the Ohio State University and served almost two years in the United States Army. After returning to the Ohio State University, where he was a member of the chess club, he received a Bachelor Degree in electrical engineering, and later a Masters Degree in Business, he became a reliability engineer for North American Rockwell. Jim enjoyed playing contract bridge and loved to fly earning his private, instrument and commercial pilots license. He retired in 1978. He spent 30 years traveling and hiking with his wife in all 50 United States, most of the states of Mexico, most of the Provinces of Canada, and 17 countries in Europe.
After cremation, ashes will be scattered in his two favorite places in the Rocky Mountains and the Florida Keys.
He is survived by his two sons; William R. (Cheryl) Cline of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Alan D. (Kathryn) Cline of Jacksonville, Florida and two grandchildren, James A. (Laura) Cline and Molly K. Cline of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
