James Lowell Lucas Sr.

James Lowell Lucas Sr. 83 of Wintersville, Ohio formerly Woodsfield passed away Thursday August 21, 2025 at the Dixon’s Health Care Center Wintersville, Ohio.  He was born in Woodsfield July 5, 1942 a son of the late Charles Lucas and Bessie Piatt Lucas. 

He was a timber cutter, and a member of Rich Fork Church of Christ.  He loved the game of horseshoes and singing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Fautz Lucas, brothers Bill Lucas, John (Bob) Lucas, Charles (Tom) Lucas, sisters Bonnie Nalley, Mary Lou Gatten, and Shirley Vaness.

He is survived by his two sons, James Lucas Jr. of Steubenville, Ohio, and Christopher Lucas of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, former wife Pam Winland of Woodsfield, grandchildren, David, Korey, Colin, and Brandon Lucas, brother George Lucas of Woodsfield, sisters, Pat Dalrymple of Woodsfield, and Winnie Mae (Kate) Stimpert of Lewisville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, plant a tree of your choice in honor of Jim being a timber cutter.
