James Edward Sims

James E. Sims, age 90 of Woodsfield, Ohio formerly of Shadyside, Ohio died Monday July 21, 2008 at the East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was born June 3, 1918 in Shadyside, Ohio a son of the late George Ruble and Bertha Burkhart Ruble.
Jim was retired from Gulf Oil Company. He graduated from Shadyside High School, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post #521 of Shadyside.
Preceded in death by his wife: Maxine Mahoney Sims - 1975, brothers: Randolph, Herbert, Creed, George, and John Ruble. Sisters: Margaret Taylor and Helen Ruble.
He is survived by his loving companion: Ila Sims of Woodsfield, Ohio,
Sister: Janie Popp - Shadyside, Ohio,
and many nieces and nephews.
Friends received from 4 -9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held 12 noon Thursday July 24, 2008 with Rev. Alice Phillips officiating. Interment in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 4100 Central Ave., Shadyside, Ohio 43947.
