Janet Dye

Janet Mae Dye, formerly of Woodsfield, OH, died April 6, 2026.  She was born November 3, 1934, in Woodsfield, OH, a daughter of the late Claude and Mary Beardmore English.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter Dye, and one sister, Susan Barker of Shinnston, WV. 

Surviving is one son, Chuck Dye of Woodsfield, OH, two daughters, Becky Swecker of Pickerington, OH, and Linda Dye-Ludwig of Charlotte, NC, five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. 

Janet was a member of the Woodsfield Church of Christ.  Janet graduated from Woodsfield High School, White Cross Hospital School of Nursing, and Ohio University.  She worked as a registered nurse at Monroe County schools. 

Janet and her husband Walt were part of the local oil and gas industry.  Janet enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping, and watching football. 

There will be no visitation.  Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield.
