John Raymond Weber Obituary

John Raymond Weber, 80, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday January 18, 2025 at Arbors at Woodsfield.

He was born in Woodsfield on January 12, 1945, a son of the late Raymond Kenneth Weber and Mary Eurydice Greenbank Weber.

John retired from the US Postal Service and was a US Navy veteran, serving as a Photo Intelligence Specialist during the Vietnam War in the US and overseas.  He worked in the service industry in Woodsfield for 37 years and had also worked for the Highway Patrol and was a member of Woodsfield VFW Post 5303.  John had a love of Volkswagens and was an amateur radio enthusiast. known as N8MTU, a former member of the Jaycees, and was a 4-H advisor as well as a Boy Scout Leader.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Ann Gates Weber February 7, 2020. 

He is survived by his son, Daniel Alen Weber of Woodsfield, and his sister Jane (Roger) Howard, of Grove City, Ohio, brother-in-law Stephen (Kimberly) Rosema of Arizona, and an aunt, Joan Crawford of Johnston, Ohio, and several cousins.

At John’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.  Interment will follow at a later date in Oaklawn Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
