Mark Garrett Stegner

Mark Garrett Stegner, 62 of Delaware, OH passed away July 27, 2021 at the OSU Wexner Center, Columbus, Ohio.  He was born January 6, 1959 in Barnesville, Ohio a son of the late Ray and Eleanor (Garrett) Stegner of Woodsfield.

Mark grew up in Woodsfield, Ohio and graduated from Capital University where he was a member of the golf team.  His career with Nationwide Insurance began in Parkersburg, WV as a claims adjuster from there he had his own Nationwide agency in Zanesville, OH and then into management  in Columbus, OH and Asheville, NC completing his 32 years before retiring. He enjoyed golf, boating, teaching new recruits, traveling, building spec homes in Asheville, NC, his old St. Bernard dog Bentley, his grandchildren, Clemson Tigers & The Ohio State Buckeyes and marching band.

Mark was a member of the Lewis Center United Methodist Church, of Lewis Center, OH.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen (Davis) Stegner, Children, Luke of Columbus Ohio, Ashley (Ben) Curtis of Hilliard, Ohio, Grandchildren Grace Stegner, Ford and Liv Curtis, Sisters Marsha (Dan) Hissom & Marilyn Forni, Niece Sarah (Jason) Anderson, Nephews Matt (Randi) Hissom, Noah (Michelle) Forni, Adam (Becky) Forni, and lots of PA cousins.

A private graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 with Rev. David Cottrell officiating.  A celebration of life will be held this fall. Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio 43793.
