Martha Jane Ritchie

Martha Jane Ritchie, age 85 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Saturday January 23, 2021.  She was born May 8th. 1935 in Clarington, Ohio the daughter of the late George W. and Ida B. Ross Haslam, the beloved granddaughter of Jesse and Lottie Ross.

Martha “Marty” was a retired Registered Nurse and a graduate of West Virginia Northern University.  She considered the nursing profession a calling, caring for patients of all ages.  Her dedication lives on in the hands of others, as she found enthusiasm teaching nursing assistant classes after her retirement.  She was an avid decorator who enjoyed sewing, crafting and all things Christmas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. Ritchie Jr., and a daughter, Cynthia Rae (David) Graham.  She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. (Larry) Stephens of Woodsfield, her son Todd A. Ritchie of Mountain View, California, three grandchildren Amy Graham, Jessie Camden, Amanda (David) Liu, and one great grandson Alex Liu.  She has three surviving sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews.

According to her wish’s cremation will take place and no services will be held.  Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery next to her husband.  Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Gas Cards Inc., 48397 Keylor Hill Road, Woodsfield, Ohio.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.
