Martin Junior Baker

Martin Junior Baker, 83 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday January 6, 2026 at Arbors at Woodsfield.  He was born in Woodsfield August 19, 1942 a son of the late Martin Western & Frances Lula Ricer Baker.

He was retired from Ormet Corp. Hannibal, Ohio and a member the VFW #5303, Eagles Lodge #2302, and Moose Lodge #2247. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lana Lynn Potts Baker, son, (Marty) Martin Junior Baker II, eight brothers, Charles, Bob, Claude, John, Ray, Paul, Floyd, and Ed, and one sister, Mary Stevens.

He is survived by his daughters, Lori (Neal) Mahoney of Woodsfield, and (Missy) Melissa (Todd) Hooper of Antioch, Ohio, six grandchildren, Erica Carte, Brittany (Colten) Frank, Josie and Summer Mahoney, and Raelynn and Hadley Baker, four great grandchildren, Miles and Alana Carte, and Allie and Lane Frank, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday January 10, 2026 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio with Pastors Sheryl and Todd Allen officiating.  Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield.
