Monica Marie Habig, 73, of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2026 in Wheeling Hospital. She was born on February 12th, 1953 in Wheeling, WV, to Walter and Madeline Schumacher.
After graduating from Woodsfield High School, Monica worked many places including Blue Cross Blue Shield in Canton, Ohio, the Marathon in Woodsfield, Ohio and Westwood in Woodsfield, Ohio. Monica will be most remembered for her warm sense of kindness, selflessness and love for family. Monica enjoyed St. Sylvester's bingo, playing cards, camping, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her siblings, Dan (Barb) Schumacher, Rita Biedenbach, Joe (Bobbi) Schumacher, and Sam (Jill) Schumacher; her children Ted (Amy) Babcock, Nicholas Babcock, and Kayla (Jeremy Merkle) Habig; her prized grandchildren Jazmine Babcock, Talin Babcock, Zachary Babcock, and Sybil Merkle; Her step grandchildren, Taylor Griffin, Chase Hickman, Cole (Taylar) McCammon, Mylee McCammon, and Ripley Merkle; Her step great grandchildren Charleigh and Rowan McCammon; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Amy (Art) Biedenbach, brother-in-law Donald Biedenbach, Mag (Dan) Welsh, Jane Landefeld, and Mike Schumacher.
In honor of her wishes, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will be held with family and friends at a future date.
