Ralph Taylor

Ralph E. Taylor, 76, of New Martinsville, West Virginia formerly of Brownsville, Ohio passed away Friday November 29, 2019 at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Bellaire, Ohio.  He was born March 9, 1943 in Brownsville, Ohio a son of the late Raymond and Lillian Elizabeth Sloan Taylor.

He was a wax house operator foreman at Quaker State Oil refinery and a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. He was known to many as “Sharp Shooter”.  He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, and playing cards.  He loved to tinker in his garage on small engines, tractors, and cars. 

Preceded in death by his wife Mary Collen (Rusty) Taylor, a sister Mary Jane Taylor, brother Charles Taylor and grandson Nathan McPeek.

He is survived by his children; Ron (Maria) Taylor of Woodsfield, Nancy (Rick) Farley of Sardis, Karen Pyles of Sardis, Patricia (Buddy) Kimble of New Matamoras, Ohio,  Elizabeth (Brad) Harris of New Martinsville, W.Va., and Margaret (Dan) Garrity of Erie, Pa., brothers Wayne (Mary) Taylor of Sardis, and Kenneth (Donna) Taylor of New Matamoras, one sister Ruth Ann Taylor of Woodsfield 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 11a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Thursday December 12, 2019 at the Gravel Hill Baptist Church at Fly, Ohio.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, Ohio.
