Robert Heuser Obituary

Captain Robert (Bob) Livingston Heuser, born December 5, 1942, died peacefully with Christine Heuser (Griffith), his wife of 26 years, by his side, on April 12, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.  Bob was born in Ithaca, New York.  He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Cornell University and was a member of KDR fraternity.   He worked as a statistician for the U.S. Public Health Service in Maryland for 30 years.  He enjoyed his job and coworkers and was responsible for writing many articles and journals and teaching several classes in Guam, Hawaii and other parts of the United States.

Bob was an avid outdoors person, a Boy Scout leader, and an active member of the Presbyterian Church, including playing handbells for forty years.  His work with the Presbyterian church mission committee included multiple trips to Mexico, Guatemala, four trips to New Orleans after hurricane Katrina, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and Northern Colorado after severe flooding and mudslides.  Bob also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Arlington, Virginia; So Others Might Eat (SOME) in Washington, D.C.; and a local pantry in the Denver area.

Bob and Christine loved to go on cruises together as well as spent time hiking, traveling and camping in the United States, and they were avid country western dancers.

Bob was a loving father to David Heuser (Sherry) and Scott Heuser (Erica), stepfather to Elizabeth Russell and Matthew Russell, and grandfather to seven grandchildren.

To the caregivers from memory care at MorningStar RidgeGate, private duty caregivers from Touching Hearts at Home, Alison Selcer NP from Bloom, Suzanne St. Louis BSN, RN and the hospice team from Lumicare, Christine and the family express their sincere thanks for their care and kindness.
