Roger Gale Haney

Roger Gale Haney, 69 of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Thursday September 29, 2022 at Marietta Memorial Hospital Marietta, Ohio.  He was born in Rinard Mills, Ohio, November 22, 1952 a son of the late of Ralph and Betty (Hanlon) Haney.

Roger retired from the US Postal Service and carried mail in Barnesville, Ohio for 25 years, was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam-era, and was a longtime volunteer of the Lewisville Fire Department.  He loved collecting coins, enjoyed farming and gardening, and was an avid fisherman.  He was a former bowler, and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Ronald and Faye Love, siblings, Fred, Carl, Cindy Haney, sister-in-law Millie Haney and brother-in-law Wayne Forshey.

He is survived by his wife Debra (Love) Haney who he married June 8, 1974, son Andrew Haney of Lewisville, daughter Shanaka (Katie) Haney-McGowan, grandchildren Kaleb, Reagan, Taylor, and Addison Karcher of Marietta, brothers and sisters Karen Forshey, Robert (Debbie) Haney, Ruth Schultz, Judy (David) Stoneking, Janet (Tim) Durham, Marion (Tracey) Haney, Earl (Barb) Haney, Ralph Haney, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Doris Haney, Michael (Carol) Love, Douglas (Cindy) Love, Mitchell (Lisa) Love, Landon Love, Lisa Love, Stacy (Will) Weddle, many special nieces and nephews, close family friends Debbie DeVitis and the late Richard DeVitis, Joyce Johnson, Gail Lewis and her children, Butch and Patti Damewood, Jeremy Keller, Mary Ennis and Glen Sarnowski and the late Linda Sarnowski.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, October 3, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022, with Rusty Atkinson officiating.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery Lewisville, Ohio.
