Roger Dean Truax

Roger Dean Truax, 79 of Marietta, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday June 28, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Sycamore Valley, Ohio March 29, 1946 a son of the late Harold and Bessie Parks Truax.

Roger was a 1964 graduate of Skyvue High School. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a faithful member of the Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ where his steady presence and deep-rooted faith touched many lives. 

Later in life, Roger moved to Bramblewood Heights, where he continued to enjoy the things that brought him joy – gardening, hunting, and attending his grandchildren sporting events, always cheering with pride.  He shared a special bond with his beloved Pomeranian – Cookie, who was a constant cherished companion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Larry Truax, and nephews John and Todd Truax.

Roger was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 54 years, Penny Crawford Truax and proud father to Shane Truax and Justin Truax of Marietta, and Trina (Isaac) Ayers of Whipple, Ohio, and one brother Melvin (Sue) Truax of St. Mary's, West Virginia. He was also a blessed grandpa to his 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great source of happiness and pride.

Roger will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength and the deep love he gave to his family, his faith, and his community.  He memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 2, 2025 at the Lower Paw Paw Church of Christ 9660 SR 821 Lower Salem, Ohio 45745 with John Wells officiating.  Arrangements by Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.
