Sheila Byrd

Sheila Jo Ann Byrd, 65 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away Sunday May 31, 2026 at WVU Wheeling Hospital Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born in Canton, Ohio March 21, 1961 a daughter of the late Harry and Isabelle (Morris) Mellon.

She was a STNA and had worked at the Arbors, she was also a licensed Insurance Agent having worked for Safe Auto and Stoehr Insurance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, David (Mike) Byrd; daughter Christina Renee Merckle; son Michael Adam Byrd, and her brother, Harry James Mellon.

She is survived by her son David Lee (Sara) Byrd of Frazeysburg, Ohio, grandchildren Lillian and Kate Byrd, Devon Harrell, Gavin Merckle, and Chase Merckle.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 p.m. Wednesday June 3, 2026 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.  Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.

In Leu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sheila’s name to the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home.
