Shirley Dawn Pfalzgraf

Shirley Dawn Pfalzgraf 87, of Clarington, Ohio passed away Monday November 3, 2025 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home Wheeling, West Virginia. Shirley was born March 26, 1938, in Flushing, Ohio to Donald and Wanda Lallathin.

She grew up in Flushing and then moved as a youth to a farm at Clarington, Ohio. She attended and graduated from Green Local High School in Laings, Ohio and married the love of her life, James Charles Pfalzgraf of Clarington, Ohio on November 19, 1955. They raised three children: Rita Fay, Mona Lee, and David James.

She was a stay-at-home mom until the kids were in school. She then became an employee of Cleggs' Superette in Roundbottom, Ohio. She worked there until the store closed then she became an employee of Morris's Market in Woodsfield and from there worked at Weber's Drug Store in Woodsfield until she retired.

She and her family attended and were members of Chapel Hill Methodist Church of Clarington where she would play the piano for her family to sing.

Shirley liked to cook and especially bake. She was always trying new things for her family to sample. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to take trips with her friends and to get together with them on weekends to sing and eat the new recipes they had come up with.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Wanda (States) Lallathin, a brother, David (Sara Lallathin), and her husband Jim Pfalzgraf.

She is survived by her brother, Graydon (Brenda) Lallathin, two daughters, Rita Pfalzgraf Gust (Jerry), Mona Pfalzgraf Mistovich (Mike) and one son, David Pfalzgraf. Four grandchildren, Jaime Gust Bier (Ted), Jenna Gust Rosnick (Ryan), Michael (Zana) Mistovich and Melissa Mistovich (Greg) Bowers, Nine great grandchildren, Marshal, Zayne, Nolan, Cole, Landon, Brynn, Londyn, Beckham, and Everly and many nephews and nieces.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Sunday November 9, 2025 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio with Rusty Atkinson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery near Clarington, Ohio.
