Shirley Vaness

Shirley Rose Vaness, 89 of Beallsville, Ohio passed away at home with family on July 10, 2021. She was born September 19, 1931 at Woodsfield, Ohio a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Lucas.

Shirley was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, country music and spending time with family. Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Lou Gatten, Bonnie Ann Nalley, brothers Bob Lucas, Tom Lucas, and Bill Lucas.

She is survived by her husband Boyd Vaness of Beallsville, son Mark (Pam) Vaness of Beallsville, Lora Cox (Richard Haney) of Beallsville, sisters Winnie (Kate) Stimpert of Lewisville, Patricia Dalyrmple of Woodsfield, brothers George Lucas of Woodsfield, James Lucas of Wintersville, Ohio, four grandchildren Ashlie Vaness (Gary Childress), Josh Cox (Kelsey LaFollette), Devon (Katey) Knowlton, and Dustin Knowlton, 2 great grandchildren Emma Joleigh Knowlton, Waylon Spencer and one on the way, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday July 13, 2021 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio.  Private burial will be in Cameron Cemetery.
