Sue Jane Mercer

Sue Jane Mercer, 86, of Jerusalem, Ohio passed away on July 15, 2019 at Emerald Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Barnesville, Ohio.

Sue was born in Zanesville, Ohio on February 10, 1933 the daughter of Blair and Kathleen (Ziggler) Hockingberry. She was preceded in death by her four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her husband Roy K. Mercer of Jerusalem, Ohio, her daughter Vickie (Richard) Betts of Jerusalem, Ohio and three sisters Garnet Baker, Lynda Coble, and Pamela Wise. Sue has two grandchildren, Larry Lee Phillips and Cheryl Moore. She also has six great-grandchildren, Joshua Ault, and Andrew, Katherine, Levi, Vincent, and Kevin Phillips and one great-great grandchild, Remington Ault.

She was a self-employed beautician for twenty-two years and an elementary teacher for the Switzerland of Ohio School District teaching at Skyvue, Cameron, and Midway Schools.
