Vernon J. Blackstone, 88, of Lewisville, Ohio passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 at Summit Acres Nursing Home Caldwell, Ohio. He was born at Lewisville, Ohio June 9, 1933 a son of the late John Blackstone and Mildred Zwick Blackstone.
Vernon was a US Army veteran, and a man of strong faith. He retired from Orrville Products where he was a metal finisher. He had also worked at Rice Chevrolet in Woodsfield. He enjoyed hunting, westerns, and wood working.
Preceded in death by one son Ronald Blackstone, brothers Virgil, Frank, and Dale, sisters Darlene Liston, and Mary Sheets, and a daughter-in-law Judy Blackstone.
He is survived by his wife Cora Lendon Blackstone of Lewisville, sons Joe Blackstone of Summerfield, Thomas Blackstone of Cleveland, Kenneth (Belva) Blackstone of Lewisville, and Bruce (Louise) Blackstone of Lewisville, daughters Judy (Henry) Vinson of Powhatan Point, and Teresa (Samuel) Scarberry of Wheeling, brothers Donald (Hazel) Blackstone of Wadsworth, David (Nikki) Blackstone of Lewisville, Frances (Judy) Blackstone of Lewisville, and Patrick Blackstone of Lewisville, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild on the way, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday June 27 at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday June 28, 2021 with Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery Lewisville, Ohio.
