Willard (Bill) Wilson Sr., 92 of Woodsfield, Ohio passed away in the early hours of Friday November 15, 2024 at home. One of sixteen children born to the late Edward and Virchie Wilson. He was born in Jacksonburg, West Virginia on September 7, 1932.
A well-known timber cutter, a very active member of the Richfork Church of Christ until his health failed him. A veteran of the US Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Lorraine, in August of 1955 and raised four sons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Sam, and fourteen siblings, Delbert, Leona, Elmer, Virgil, Freda, Wilma, Kathleen, Lucy, Hazel, Velma, Beulah, Paul, Leonard, and Betty.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine, their sons, Willard Jr., of Woodsfield, Lewis (April) of New Martinsville, West Virginia, Ralph (Jeannette) of Woodsfield, one brother Ed of Paden City, West Virginia, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Friends will be received from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday November 17, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday November 18, 2024 with Jack Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio with full military graveside services.
