William “Bill” Schwall, age 82 of Woodsfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully June 13th, 2025, surrounded by his family at Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Canton, Ohio on April 18th, 1943. He was the son of the late Roy W. “Hank” Schwall and Helen Mae Grant Schwall. He retired as the superintendent of maintenance at the Ormet Corporation after 47 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, assistant chief of the Woodsfield Fire Department, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #2247, Monroe Shrine Club, Grand lodge F&AM of Ohio, Monroe Lodge # 189, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, Aladdin Shrine Temple, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a loyal Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Guardian fan.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and an infant sister Judith Kay Schwall. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jo-Ann Schwall, his son Jay Schwall of Marietta, Ohio, his sister Jo Ellyn Kaiser (John Kaiser Jr.), a niece, Jill LeMasters (Jason LeMasters), a nephew, John Kaiser III (Johnna Kaiser),a great nephew, Jaren LeMasters, a great niece, Jocelyn LeMasters, a great nephew, Jett Kaiser, a sister-in-law Lori Biedenbach (Greg Biedenbach).
Friends will be received from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Bauer-Turner Funeral Home 100 S. Paul St. Woodsfield, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday June 18, 2025 with Dalton Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery Woodsfield, Ohio. Masonic Lodge service will be held at 7:30 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
